Planning a trip ‘high’ up in the Himalayas? Then Kasol must be a check mark on your back packing road map! Located along the Parvati valley, this tranquil place, also know at the Little Israel or Stonner’s Paradise, will be the perfect get away from your hectic, fast life.

Here are 5 Things You Must Do In Kasol:

1. Gorge On Authentic Israeli Food

Stone Garden Café and Evergreen are absolute must visits. The Falafel, Hummus with Zatar Naan and Chicken Lafa are to get high for! Oops.. we meant die for.

2. Visit Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara

Located about 6 km from Kasol, it is known for the ‘Langar’ and hot water springs. The water in the springs is so hot that the rice for the langar is cooked by placing linen bags in the hot water. While you are there, don’t forget to take a dip and wash away all your sins (you know what we’re talking about)! This place is visited by Hindus and Sikhs and has a lot of temples, including a Gurudwara.

Approximate Distances from:
Kullu-Manali Airport at Bhuntar: 37 km
Kullu town: 45 km
Manali town: 85 km

3. Take A hike!

Malana, Kheer Ganga, Tosh, Rashol, to name a few, are just a few hours away on foot. An overnight trip to one of these locations is a must! You can safely leave behind your bags with the hotel that you were staying at in Kasol, incase you don’t want to carry too much of a load while trekking up.

4. Mingle with the locals

The locals are extremely warm and helpful, with some interesting stories. Learn their customs and cultures and come back enlightened.

5. Spend A Day By The River

Take a walk on the white sand and smooth boulders along the raging Parvati river. Don’t miss the sounds of the gurgling water, they say it speaks to you.

  1. Heyy me and 6 of my friends are planning a trip to kasol around the last week of june.Could you help me with the itenary and the list of places to stay there?

    • Hey! You must check out Parvati Kuteer for accommodation. It’s right at the banks of the river and the rooms are really good. You must book in advance though because they are mostly sold out. We suggest you also trek up to Rashol, visit Manikaran (for the langar and hot springs) and go to Kheer Ganga. The lady at the Parvati Kuteer reception will allow you to leave behind your bags behind incase you plan on trekking and don’t want to carry your heavy bags.

    • Stone Garden Cafe and Evergreen you must check out. Also, since Kasol is quite small, we suggest you just walk around this one arterial road that explore their Israeli cafes. Most of these cafes also offer free Wi-fi so don’t forget to ask them, since phone network is quite low.

  2. Heyy guys ..
Im traveling solo to kasol on august 15th.. Planning to spend almost 10 days altogather ..
Would like to know if sleeping bags/ tent is available for rent (cost too) …
and about the safety in spending nights in the wild .. Also if stay is available in the smaller villages (pulga, kheerganga)..
Really liked the article .. And thanks for the info ??☺️
A reply to my mail would be appreciated
    Cheers!

    • Hey Nahaz!

To be honest, we aren’t entire sure about tenting and staying alone in the wild. Kasol is anyway quite a small place where you can live with the locals so we suggest you experience that only. Kheerganga also has a lot of local guest rooms (bare shell but livable). It would be safer to live with the locals because they are super friendly.

Let us know if you need any more information, we’d be happy to help! 🙂

  3. hey i am planning for kasol trip on 1st december and i am planning to stay there for a week, i am tight on budget so i would like to know what would be the average room stay cost and where can i find the cheapest rooms. reply to my email will be appreciable

    • Hey! The good thing about Kasol is that since it is frequented by backpackers the stay is really economical. You can get a small room for as low as Rs. 600-700 and a good hotel room for upto Rs. 2,500. All depends on how much you are willing to spend. In most cases, we don’t pre-book, we go straight to Kasol and find a room there itself.
