You are reading this because you have got to be one of those who can’t start their day without coffee. We feel your pain!
From the first goat herder who is said to have begun dancing with his animals after eating the mysterious red berry, to the modern-day commuter who wakes up with a cup of coffee, this drink has become a necessity. Here are five types of popular coffees and makes them so special-
Espresso means “express” in Italian. It is made when boiling water is forced under pressure through finely ground coffee beans. Espresso is usually thicker than brewed coffee as the ratio of water to ground coffee is much lesser. Espresso is also the base for other drinks such as a cappuccino, cafe mocha, Americano, etc.
Not too many of us would know that Cappuccino began as an Italian beverage. As a derivative of espresso, this type of coffee catered to people that liked cream in their coffee. Cappuccino is traditionally prepared using espresso, hot milk and hot steamed milk foam.
Cafè Americano is nothing but, hot water and an espresso. It’s literally an Americanized version of an Italian espresso. When you think an espresso is too much to handle, go for an Americano and all is good with the world!
Cafè Mocha also called mocaccino, is a chocolate-flavored variant of espresso. It is a type of coffee that consists of espresso, steamed milk, milk froth and to top it all – chocolate syrup.
An espresso with steamed milk is all it takes!
