On March 2nd, liquor baron Vijay Mallya made a quite exit to London via Delhi on Jet Airways flight 9W-122, leaving behind a defaulted loan of over 9,000 crore that he owes to lenders. Accompanied by a female companion and 11 suitcases, he was escorted by the Jet Airways staff as a ‘special passenger’, to the premium lounge in T-3 before being seated in the flight’s business class.
All eyes now turn to the CBI who relaxed the look-out notice issued to Mallya a month ago, allowing him to escape a week before 17 Indian Banks moved the Supreme Court seeking his detention and claim over the 500 crore pay due to him from Diageo.
